Social Theater

Reality Building

A key part of sustaining Hypernormalization. Just like the normal theater, social theater is planned and produced to draw the audience in, capture their imagination, and foster emotional attachment to the characters on stage. In reality, it represents an improv show more than a broadway play since not all interactions between the characters are scripted, and not all participants stay the same character. One of the ways that social theater plays out is through culture war. This is an especially important part of the Democratic Party’s strategy because it allows them to make changes in the Hypernormal world by winning cultural battles without having to work towards the systemic changes needed to transform our society.
