Ethical and Technical Debt

Tech and Social Structure Social Change

Ethical vs Technical debt. Both exist only after something has been built, and ethical debt is much harder, if not impossible to erase. Building an "ethical architecture" takes practice and may result in the removal of one or more features, or even preventing a product which could be successful from getting to market. It is then a litmus test of a companies moral code. Do they simply not care about the ethical ramifications of their product? Do they believe that their tech will be used only by ideal users? Do they withhold things for ethical considerations. Unfortunately, we're most likely never to hear about products chosen not to go to market for ethical reasons.
